Charlie Walker

Charlie Walker is an award-winning explorer, author and international keynote speaker. He has travelled over 60,000 miles by foot, horse, raft, bicycle, ski and dugout canoe, in places as varied as the Tibetan plateau, the Mongolian steppe, the Congolese jungle, the Arctic tundra, the highlands of New Guinea and the Sahara desert. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Scientific Exploration Society Explorer Award winner, and the author of Through Sand & Snow and On Roads That Echo.

A debut author in her element 📖 ✍️

@libbythescribbler and @indiepublishermatt had a ball swanning around London bookshops signing copies of Spider, Spider and meeting the booksellers championing her new novel.

After getting their 20,000 steps in, they enjoyed a well deserved cocktail or two (or three???) to mark the occasion with editor @clare_bullock and agent @emilyglenisterbooks - dream team!

How fabulous was last night’s @indies_alliance spring showcase? Oodles of talented authors mingling with the great and the good of UK bookselling.

Copies of I’ll be the Monster were on display and went fast, snapped up on the promise of a sensational new voice and a lavish quote from @lucyrose (cannot thank her enough!).

We’re grateful to be part of the Alliance where like minded publishers can closely collaborate to do the hard work of championing literary voices that might otherwise never get their shot at publishing.

Events like these show how much joy and opportunity still exists for indie publishers and bookshops in an increasingly challenging economic landscape.

Remember to support your local indie booksellers - they need us now more than ever! 📚
